Family Wedding in York

At the end of February, I got the opportunity to travel to York, England, for my first international wedding! Well, it wasn't really work, more pleasure, as the bride and groom are family and they were doing a vows renewal ceremony. It was the first time taking the plane for our son Erik, as well as the first time he watched me in action. He did great, thanks to my parents, brother, sister-in-law, cousins, aunts and uncles, who took turns babysitting. Sorry, enough of the proud mummy speech..back to the VIPs of the day, Nicholas and Henrietta.

They are a sweet couple, very much in love, and as I discovered through heartfelt poems, speeches, and happy song, seemed truly destined to one other. The ceremony took place at the York registry, and a lunch followed at the famous Betty's café tea room. It was a low key event, focusing on family and friends, and with beautiful personal touches: Henrietta's tailored outfit was made in Zurich (where the couple live), and the delicate butterfly theme from their invitations was repeated in the decoration.

Congratulations to you, Nick & Henri, on a wonderful day and a beautiful marriage! We wish you many many happy years together.
